Atlantic Plant Services was incorporated in 2005 as a union scaffolding provider. Shortly thereafter, they purchased Insulco, Inc., an insulation contractor to become a nationwide provider of bundled industrial services.
Insulco, Inc. was founded in 1981 by Gary J. Giovanellia and David M. Dybas as an insulation contracting organization catering primarily to industrial customers focusing on steel, power and process with a secondary emphasis on the commercial/institutional market. In 1985, William M. Prescott, who had founded an insulation material distribution company, merged with Insulco, Inc.
